As the Zionist entity launches war against the Islamic Republic of Iran its worth learning what it is that irks them and the US so.
Yes, the Islamic Republic has sponsored, organised, trained and given spiritual support to the resistance. This has been an article of faith of the Islamic Republic since the Islamic Revolution in 1979. However they have always also proposed the basic building blocks of a post-Zionist political settlement.
The proposal – the main proposal of the Islamic Republic of Iran – as the solution to the oppression of the Palestinians has always been that of a referendum. This plan demands that all those living in all parts of occupied Palestine (who presumably have not been implicated in war crimes and crimes against humanity), and all those who were expelled or descended from Palestinian refugees, vote on the type of political system they want for their country. One democratic country, with a plural political settlement chose by its people.
The suggestion has been made repeatedly. Detailed proposals as to the mechanism have been submitted to the UN. Ayatollah Khamenei has addressed the US political class on this issue and challenged them directly. No-one can say they don’t know, whatever hysterical claims they wish to make. The quote below is widely available.
“Now I would like to give a piece of advice to US politicians who have always stood up to defend and support the Zionist regime. So far, this regime has created countless problems for you. It has presented a hateful image of you to the people of the region, and you are seen to be an accomplice in the crimes of the usurping Zionists the material and moral costs borne by the US government and people due to this are staggering. If this continues, the cost will probably become even higher in the future. Think about the Islamic Republic proposal of a referendum and make a courageous decision to rescue yourselves from the current impossible situation. Undoubtedly, the people of the region and all freethinkers throughout the world will welcome this measure.”

This war – from the outset – has been a war of annihilation. Annihilation of a free and fair future for the Palestinians and for the region. Annihilation of life deemed non-worthy. There can be no confusion about this either. Wise words have been spoken for decades now. Those of us who have failed to hear them until now have a last moment to achieve clarity.
PS I am just hoping the rapprochement with the US lobby has learned its lesson.
